The first time I spoke with Madison (Madi), was on the phone when I let her know she'd been selected for the Senior Rep program. Straight away, I could hear her excitement and heart. I knew she was going to be a joy to work with during the pre-season. Madi's family is tight-nit and I quickly learned that she is very close with her mom, which struck a cord in my momma heart. There is also a funny and a bit of a wild side to this young lady. She's going to take life by the reins, this one.
Madi's hobbies include painting, taking care of kids, baking and going out with friends. My sessions with her have included what I call 'poetry' shots. She has a beautiful thoughtful look that makes me wonder where she went off to and what she is thinking. I wonder if some of her creativity in painting and baking becomes an outlet for that.
A natural care-taker is Madi's calling. She takes care of her brother and other kids. Her favorite aspect of taking care of kids is the impact she feels she has on them. People can make or break a kid's day or week and she prides herself on being one that can easily make a child's day. She says "hearing a kids genuine laugh is stress-releasing" and feels she gets so much from the interactions as well. Madi's little brother seems to hold a huge part of her heart. He is autistic and she took care of him quite a bit during quarantine this past year. She seems to operate under the 'family comes first' motto.
Speaking of quarantine, I asked Madi what she enjoyed watching during this quiet time last year. She claimed to binge watch Hoarders and a Netflix fave of hers is Criminal Minds. I'm sure she worked in some painting and baking as well.
When asked about her future plans, Madi sees college. She isn't sure where yet, but would love to pursue nursing. She plans to get her EMT license and work part-time within a hospital. As a natural care-taker, I believe Madi will be amazing in the medical field. Her patients will love her kind heart and loving smile. Her bubbly, fun personality will bring joy to those in struggle, no doubt.
When asked what Madi is looking most forward to in her senior year, she said "having the freedom and the anticipation of almost being done." 13 long years and the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight. Seeing that it just flipped over to the year 2021 on the calendar, I imagine the sensation of being almost done is in full force! Madi's favorite memory from past school years is the first time she skipped. (This stops the teacher in me in my tracks, lol). But she said she went to McDonald's with her older brother and his friends instead of going to a pep rally. Oh, that wild side!
People describe Madi as caring, goofy and outgoing and I would agree. She shows so much personality at her shoots and ends up getting such a great mix of who she is at this time in her life.
When asked who her role model is, Madi said her mom. "She has gone through so much and still stands tall each and every day. She smiles when she's down just so others can be happy." Her mom came up in her bucket item question as well. "I really want to travel with my mom and just be free." During sessions when her mom was able to join us, it was clear to see the deep and loving connection between these two. They would often hold hands, laugh and smile at each other. #goals
As a 2021 Senior Rep, Madi was provided a handful of opportunities for themed mini shoots pre-season (May - July) for no charge. These sessions are geared to provide more images for the seniors in their milestone year. But they also provide me with creative freedom and a willing crew to kickstart the senior season (July - Nov) with promotional images that will inspire future clients and showcase my work. The promotional win is just as valuable as the extra images for the seniors. I will be putting out a model call next month to pull in 2022 Senior Rep possibilities - be watchful if you have any interest! I will be looking for 4-5 excited individuals to represent my senior brand. Stay tuned.
I asked Madi what she liked most about the rep program. "I love how quickly everyone became friends and got close." It really was such a great group of young ladies!
Thank you, Madi. You were SUCH a great person to work with. I loved getting to know you and your family better throughout the year. I appreciate you more than you can imagine! I wish you the very BEST this year and on into the future. It will be thrilling to see where you take life and the greater influence you have on others. :)
